Who knows where thoughts come from, they just appear...

For those of you keeping score, Ashley noticed the change in the blog title the very same day. She did not make me change it back, but as punishment, she did choose the polka dot format for the blog that you are currently witnessing.

I am trying to hurry up and have fun for the next few days before school starts. I don't know what that fun will end up being, but I suspect it will involve televised baseball games, silent anticipation of college football, and convincing Melinda that she will have thalidomide babies due to the tree stump-killing chemicals that have contaminated her apartment via an open window in the kitchen. (Those are the babies born without arms or legs.)

And I don't know why, but I have had some pretty wild dreams lately. I recently dreamed I was at a chicken restaurant in the South, and it was called Ku Klucks Chicken. They were cooking the chicken over burning crosses and all the employees were wearing Klan robes. I don't know why my subconscious decided to combine white supremacy and restaurant chains on this particular night, but I guess it's encouraging that the Klan has decided to vent its anger in such a delicious, relatively benign manner.

  1. I pass Cluck U Chicken--for reals--on my way to church every week. Sometimes I think I'm just as bad as a Klan member since I haven't eaten there yet.

  2. But Scott, I don't WANT Thalidamide babies! That dream sounds great. I was laughing so hard at work that I couldn't even answer the phone. Phew! P.S. We've been able to go back into our apartment, and poison control was nice enough to call me back and ask how I was feeling. I'm quite impressed with poison control. They really care about you...at least they pretend to. But either way, I would feel confident calling them if I was exposed to tree stump-killing agents again, or even if I ingested something potentially harmful.

  3. Scott, you're every bit as hilarious as you've always been. That dream cracked me up :D
