New Year, New You!

I always laugh when I hear this slogan used in advertising campaigns around each new year. You would think that companies would not pay loads of dinero for advertising that they could have thought of themselves (or paid me to come up with). I digress.

I feel very blessed to say that 2009 was not a bad year for us. I have a good job that pays well, Scott is going to school so he can get a good job (eventually), and we have our health and lots of family and friends. I am not really a resolution person, but I thought I would share a few things I would like to be conscious of as the new decade begins.
  • Eating healthier/exercising. I am sad to say that due to my poor diet and exercising habits I have become a little plump (it's ok. You can judge me). My '10 goal is to eat healthier - don't eat out two meals a day, have something for dinner besides chips and salsa, drink more water and less coke, etc. and exercise three times a week. Wow. Just writing that makes me nervous.
  • Relax. My job is very stressful around certain times of the year and I get a little too wound up. This year I am going to stay calm and not check my email every five minutes when I am not at work (oops - that's what I've been doing all day today). After all, they aren't paying me for my annual average of 300 hours of overtime (I know, I know. It could be worse).
  • Be a little more patient. I am not always the most patient person and tend to get annoyed when people take too long to do things or do them differently than I would (which also makes them take too long Ü). I am going to try to be more understanding and work on accepting that my way is not always the right way.
Well, I think that is enough. I mean, I don't want to set myself up for failure. In case you are the resoluting kind, I wish you luck. If you're like me, you'll need it!

  1. Well I think those sound great. I am not a resolutions sort, but I want some changes in my life too! So I made a few goals for this year!

  2. Those are good resolutions. I haven't made mine yet so I'll steal yours for now. :)

  3. I'm with you on the plump/lack of exercise/eating poorly. I need to do better too.

P.S. Your way IS the right way, and don't let anyone tell you differently. :)
