In October I went to Boston to visit Scott's sister, Natalie. We both wanted to visit Salem and thought around Halloween would be a great time to go.
I was a little disappointed because there really wasn't much of the original town buildings around. I guess they didn't think too much about preservation in the 18th & 19th centuries. Oh, well. We still had a great time checking everything out.

After wandering the cemetery we had a scone and apple cider. Both were delish!

I took this next picture because I hate grape flavored things (I'm not sure why). Scott loves them, so when Nat ordered a grape soda I had to send a picture to Scott with the caption "you know you're with a Johnson when grape soda is ordered."

After our tour of Salem we went in to Boston for dinner. We had some good Italian food and also stopped at Mike's Pastry for dessert - cupcakes and cannolis, yum!
The next day we walked around the Harvard and MIT campuses. It was beautiful!

It was short trip, but I had a lot of fun and made it home before Hurricane Sandy came through. Thanks for letting me come and hang out, Nat!
So fun! I'm glad you got such great pictures. When I visited, my camera battery died and I'd forgotten the charger. Don't you think the graveyards look like a movie set with the creepy headstones and the autumn leaves on the ground? Sheila
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to visit! That was such a great weekend.
