Public Transportation

In order to save gas money, lately I have been taking TRAX up to the university. Now, I shouldn’t be surprised, but it has come to my attention that the dregs of society all flock to public transportation. Based on the unidentified hairs I found on my seat the other day, one could also call it pubic transportation. (On a side note, I have always wanted to rip the “L” off the sign for the Department of Public Health building on campus. Any aspiring gynecologists can go ahead and use that idea to name their practice.)

I have to change from the Salt Lake train to the University train at Gallivan Plaza. On the ground, among other metal X's there is an X says, “The first heart and kidney transplants were performed here.” I find that particular X somewhat misleading.

I think it is a prerequisite for Trax train operators to have slurred speech. Every day as I approach my stop, the operator comes on over the loudspeaker, “University Medical Center. The end of the line, as far as we __-o.” Go? Know? Are they being ridiculously redundant, or are they trying to inspire a sense of uncertainty, like “Oh, it may be the end of the line, but is it really? Will they just keep going next time?” Hopefully one day I'll get a driver who enunciates, then I'll let you know what they really say.

Anyway, I’m glad to see Pat and Kristie and Davis and Angie have found this page. I like reading their stuff. I’ll try to put up some pics eventually.

  1. You know, I had an epiphany just now. Ever since the days of the dot board and lurpdogg.com died out, there's been a vacuous void in my life--that void being the lack of Scotty-related internet chatter. How glad I am that the void is now filling again. I'm pretty much jazzed beyond belief that you blaaaaaagh.

  2. Sizcott, you need to put me down on you list of other cool blogs to check out. I know it means a lot to you so we'll put you on our cool blog-o-rama list too. By the way, I also ride Trax to and from school everyday and often times I come out feeling just as dirty as if I had just gone to Walmart. Ewww.

  4. Reading all of these comments makes me feel like the past five years never happened. That's kinda weird.

    Sup, Scott.
