First, I got to go to a Penn State game in October. It was against the Illinois Fighting Illini, with both teams undefeated at the time. There were tailgaters out all day, spread as far as the eye can see.

Penn State declared the game a white-out, so almost everyone in the sell-out crowd of over 110,000 people was wearing white that night. It was amazing to look around. It was also All-University Day, so people from a bunch of different campuses (Penn State has campuses all over the state) including the College of Medicine got to go down on the field at halftime. I was one of those lucky individuals.
Penn State won, and everyone left happy.
The next game I got to attend was part of the best Christmas present ever. My lovely wife Ashley got me a plane ticket home to see the Utah-BYU game! It was awesome! It was so nice to be able to come home for a couple days, see my family, and watch Utah crush BYU to finish the regular season undefeated. There is nothing better than a good field storming.
On to the Sugar Bowl. Needless to say, it was an incredible experience. It is the best New Year's gift I have ever received. The fact that it is the only New Year's gift I have ever received does not dimish its awesomeness. Thanks again Dad! Ashley already posted some pictures from New Orleans, but here are a couple from before and after the game. This is the team being introduced.
And this is the confetti and hugging and general happiness as the Utes are named the 2009 Allstate Sugar Bowl Champions! (Ignore the unenthusiastic looking person at the bottom of the picture. He is not representative of the general mood of those surrouning him.) It was the most amazing sporting event I have been to in my life. Go Utes!
So thanks for humoring me as I recounted my trifecta of great football games I was able to attend this year. That's all I have for now.
It looks like you had a lot of fun you lucky duck! I hope we can see you soon!
