Gibraltar

Our first port was Gibraltar and I'll admit I was excited to see land again after 7 days of not seeing anything (except a fleeting glance of the Azores the day before we got to Gibraltar. That doesn't count). We went to Europa Point, St. Michael's Cave, and then walked around the main street. St. Michael's cave was cool, but we found that caves pretty much look the same in every country. I was also surprised how friendly some people were with the Barbary apes, like they were holding them. No, thanks. My favorite thing about Gibraltar: the "I  Gibraltar" shirt I bought. I mean, who has one of those? Now I do.

Hey, Africa!

The main road to Spain runs across the airport tarmac

Very British

View of Gibraltar as we were sailing on to Spain
Cool view from the back of the ship. Morocco to the left, Spain straight ahead, Gibraltar on the right

  1. You didn't want to hold a wild ape?! Your loss. :)
