Barthelona

Our next stop in Spain was Barcelona. We went to a nice park that is on a hill over looking the city. You can get an awesome view of the city from there but there was just enough morning fog that we couldn't see anything.

On our way to La Sagrada Familia we saw the Arena, the old bull fighting arena that's now a shopping mall because this area of Spain is no longer in to bull fighting, and a few of the houses designed by Gaudi.

La Sagrada Familia was really cool. The pictures don't do it justice. Based on the outside I thought it would be a dark, cold cathedral but it was so beautiful and light inside. The detail is amazing!

We had a little bit of free time so Scott and I ran across the street to pick up some souvenirs. Using my rusty, broken, high school Spanish we got a lovely hand made glass plate and a rose cross for my grandma. Her side of the family is originally from Spain, so I figured she would like that.

After the tour we were adventurous and hopped off the bus to explore on our own. We found the main walkway and just started walking. We happened upon the market and grabbed a sandwich and fresh fruit juice. It was delish!
