Venice

Our last stop in Italy was Venice. Scott lived here for a few months on his mission so again it was nice not to have to use a map and wander around trying to find things. Most of the time we were there it was overcast so everything just looked gray and murky, but Venice at night is beautiful (and there are a lot less tourists walking around).

We toured the city using the public transport boats and went to Piazza San Marco, Doge's Palace, and Murano where we bought a lot of souvenirs of the different glass they make.

Since we were in Italy we obviously ate a lot of pasta and pizza. I am always impressed by how much Scott can eat. He ate this whole pizza...

It was sunny the next day so it looked a lot prettier.

The last night we were there Scott and I decided to walk to San Marco's from our hotel. It was a little scary sometimes but it was beautiful (some of it was fun, but some of it was scary!). It was also nice because there weren't a lot of tourists or vendors out.

This next picture shows a delicious treat that we had but it's in here so you can see our ugly hotel room. It was completely red - red wallpaper, red carpet, red bread spread. The only thing not red was a pink chair at the desk (and the curtains).

We flew home from Venice, which was kind of a disaster. Maybe choose another airport if you go. But we did enjoy some delish paprika pringles and juice before our flight left.

And we came home to this awesome welcome home sign. Thanks Woods!
