In the Navy

When you read the title, you may have pictured something like this:

No? I guess it's just me then.

After talking with a few doctors that participated in the program, Scott decided to join the Navy as a medical reserve physician. It was quite an application process that took close to a year. In August he was finally commissioned as a Lieutenant! They know that residency is demanding on time, so Scott has a small annual commitment now and doesn't have to put in the normal drill hours until after he's done with residency. At that point every few years or so he'll fill in for doctors in the Navy that have been deployed (that's how it was explained to me).

  1. Congratulations, Scott! I know you've been excited about this. You look so official now! Mom
